Houston Fund for Social Justice and Economic Equity (Houston Equity Fund (HEF)) is committed to taking actions that encourage equitable systems of change within our communities.
OUR STORY
In 2020, amidst a pandemic, as society reeled from the ills of racial injustice, several influential leaders rallied into action to be the difference they desired to see in the world.
The Fund is a unified group of Houston leaders dedicated to accelerating transformative change by supporting under-resourced Houston nonprofits and small businesses that empower and uplift the Black community.
GENERAL WHY
- Wealth and income are closely linked to overall quality of life
- Black households in Houston’s three most populous counties earn 50% less per year than White residents

The Fund is committed to taking actions that encourage equitable systems of change within our communities.
