  • Is getting certified free? Government agency certifications on the Federal, State, and Local Level are free. However, however there are two certifications that are not, which are the NMSDC (Minority) and the WBENC (Woman).

  • Are vendors required to be M/WBE certified in order to be awarded a Houston Independent School District (HISD) contract? No. You are not required to be certified to do business with any entity.   • For your capability statement, is it necessary to add a photo of the business owner? It is a personal preference. If you have a professional headshot B2G Victory suggests including it on your capability statement. It adds further recognition, especially when so many buyer meetings are taking place virtually.

  • Who should be the point of contact on my capability statement? You can have multiple capability statements with the contact information of whoever will be charge of communications and outreach. For example, you could have two, one with the business owners’ contact and another with the Sales Directors information on it.
