About Dan Crenshaw

Rep. Dan Crenshaw, a 6th generation Texan from Houston, is a former U.S. Navy SEAL and fluent Spanish speaker. After earning his Naval Officer commission from Tufts University in 2006, he completed SEAL training and deployed five times, including to Iraq and Afghanistan. An IED blast in 2012 left him blind, but after multiple surgeries, he regained sight in his left eye and continued to serve until retiring in 2016.

Dan earned a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School and volunteered in Houston after Hurricane Harvey. Inspired to serve his community further, he was elected in 2018 to represent Texas’s Second Congressional District. He serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Dan is committed to service, leadership, and practical solutions in Congress.
