Fort Bend County Queer Alliance Luncheon

We are excited to partner with Judge KP George on the Fort Bend County Queer Alliance Luncheon on Friday, June 28th. The theme for the luncheon is ‘Claiming Our Space’, and a panel event as part of the luncheon.

About Judge KP George

On January 1, 2019, KP George assumed the role of Fort Bend County Judge through a decisive electoral victory. His commitment to public service was reaffirmed with an overwhelming re-election for a second term on November 8, 2022. In his capacity as the County’s highest elected official, Judge George presides over the Commissioners Court, responsible for supervising more than 3,600 employees and managing a substantial budget exceeding $650 million. Simultaneously, he serves as the Director of the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
Judge George has distinguished himself by placing a strong emphasis on key areas such as homeland security and emergency management, governmental transparency, youth empowerment, and enhancing the overall quality of life for citizens through strategic infrastructure improvements.

A trailblazer in his own right, Judge George holds the distinction of being the first Fort Bend County Judge of South Asian descent.

Under Judge George’s astute leadership, Fort Bend County has experienced a series of significant accomplishments since 2019. Notably, he played a pivotal role in efficiently managing COVID-19 testing and vaccination initiatives, leading to Fort Bend County attaining a top-five position in the State’s vaccination rate. His oversight extended to the implementation of crucial COVID recovery programs, including the Utility, Rental, and Mortgage Assistance program, Childcare Voucher program, Small Business Emergency Grant program, Small Business Mentorship program, We All Eat Texas, and the Get Hired Employer incentives program, resulting in over $44 million in grants awarded in Fort Bend County.

Furthermore, commercial development has flourished under Judge George’s leadership, with notable expansions from companies such as Frito Lay, the Amazon fulfillment center, Biotics Research, and numerous others.

Faith and family are priorities for Judge George. He is married to Sheeba George. They are the proud parents of three children.

Judge George is the top executive overseeing one of the fastest-growing and ethnically diverse counties in the United States. He is dedicated to caring for the vulnerable, fostering a welcoming community, and ensuring Fort Bend County remains a land of opportunity for all.
